I agree, quite slow, and I've had my laptop replaced in the last year. I would be very hesitant to replace existing Connect clients with 7.5 until the performance can be tuned up. It takes seconds longer to load than the quick reponse users expect from such a 'simple' app. In addition, the act of just starting sessions with users takes several seconds...in short, 7.5 takes the 'instant' out of instant messaging.
